Do you deliver?
We have partnerships with third party services to deliver pastries locally. If you need something delivered today, please see our menu on GrubHub. All items available from GrubHub are “Baker’s Choice” meaning you’ll get the freshest variety we have in stock at the moment we receive your order. Because this service is offered for same day fulfillment, you may not specify flavors. If you give us at least 24 hours notice, more of our menu is available for next day delivery through Mercato. Here you can make flavor requests, but they are not guaranteed. You can also order a 9-inch pie to be delivered through Mercato, limited flavors available. To order for delivery through either platform mentioned above, please visit their website(s), place your order, pay, and they’ll send a driver by the bakery to pick up your treats, then deliver straight to your home or office. Delivery is available most hours and days that we are open, but not all. Not all items are available for same day delivery.
Do you ship?
Our baked goods are made without preservatives and are meant to be eaten the day they’re made or shortly after. We think they taste best in Philadelphia, but if you’d like a taste of Flying Monkey treat and you live in Omaha, we will do our best to get them to you. Most items without frosting can be shipped and we can only ship October through the end of February. Priority Mail 2 or 3 day delivery ranges between $15 and $20. We are happy to ship our merchandise year-round. Please call the bakery to place your order.
Do you make wedding cakes?
We sure do! The Flying Monkey wedding cake is a simple yet elegant affair, up to three tiers, which serves around 100. If you’re having a larger wedding, we suggest additional cake rounds to be cut behind the scenes. Read this handy guide to serving sizes and tiered cakes from Flying Monkey Bakery. Please note that all cakes must be picked up, as we do not offer delivery services or own a vehicle that can deliver wedding cakes.
Do your make mini cupcakes and whoopie pies?
Yes, we do and they’re even more adorable than their larger versions. All whoopie pies with a single filling can be made into miniature versions for $18/dozen. All cupcakes without fillings can be made miniature for $18/dozen. Most brownie and blondies can also be made miniature for $21/dozen. We kindly ask for a minimum order of 12.
Do you make giant whoopie pies?
Yes, we can make our large 9-inch whoopie pie in most of our flavors for just $25. Give us a call at the bakeshop to talk flavors and decorations!
Do you make gluten-free items?
We make a few items whose recipes do not contain any flour, however, since we use gluten elsewhere in the bakery, we’re remiss to call our flourless items gluten-free. All surfaces and equipment are washed and sanitized between uses, but ultimately we do not want you or your loved ones to get sick due to a gluten allergy. We suggest you visit a completely allergen-free bakery such as Sweet Freedom Bakery here in Philadelphia. Our current flourless menu includes a marshmallow treat made with fruity cereal, a peanut butter oatmeal based cookie called the Monster, a chocolate cake with ganache glaze and a lemon coconut pie with coconut whipped cream. These items are available on a rotating basis in the shop. Call us to see what we have in stock today!
Do you make vegan items?
Yes, we do make vegan items. Currently at the bakery we have a whoopie pie, a cupcake, a bundt cake and a cookie that do not contain any animal ingredients. We hope you’ll come try one and let us know what you think.
Did Flying Monkey Bakery invent the Pumpple Cake?
Yes we did! Pumpple Cake is a 2-layer cake with pies baked inside of each layer. The bottom layer is chocolate cake with a pumkin pie inside and the top layer is a vanilla cake with an apple pie inside, the entire cake is covered with vanilla buttercream. It’s quite a treat, and each slice is meant to be shared with a friend. Our Pumpple Cake is a seasonal item. We can bake one special just for you year round, just give us 72 hours (3 days!). If you don’t need a whole Pumpple Cake, but would like to try a slice of it, please visit the bakery between October and February and we’ll cut you a slice. We can’t ship or deliver the Pumpple Cake due to it’s large size and delicate construction. We’d love to see you visit the bakery, so come on down!
